How Does One Become an ACP?

Promotions for ACP
ACP (Dy.Sp) State Cadre Policemen are eligible for promotion to the IPS Cadre. Each state annually compiles a list of qualified police officers of the Police Inspector rank who are to be promoted to DySP of the IPS Cadre. Since their average age is between 39 and 45, as opposed to 24 to 26 for IPS Cadre, these promotees hardly ever rise above the rank of SP (Superintendent of police)
