The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies was established through the UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand, in 2003. In contemporary times, 7 schools operate under UPES Dehradun; offering varied courses ranging from undergraduate, postgraduate to doctoral level.
Before taking up any course, candidates must check all details about UPES admissions. Note that for most UPES courses, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies does not give direct admission. UPES conducts its own entrance exams such as UPESEAT, UPESMET, UPESDAT, ULSAT, and UPESPAT. Post the entrance examination, candidates are called upon for group discussion/ personal interview round.
