Abhilashi PG College of Education, Mandi was founded in the year 2003, is one among leading colleges of Ner Chowk Tehsil Balh, Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. Being an affiliated college, this institution gets recognition from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of India and further operates under the permission of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Set up on over 1.2 acre of land, the college teaches three full time courses in education with a total student enrolment capacity of 398 and faculty of 36 members. Teacher education is the primary focus of the institute offering degree courses as B.Ed, B.P.Ed, and D.El.Ed for students aspiring to become teachers of varying capacity.

The college has set up several facilities for making the education of its students more enjoyable. A good library with appropriate books, journals, periodicals and newspapers are considered as information centre, while departmental laboratories form the core of learning. The institution has a good IT infrastructure which is a show of the institution’s embracing of modern systems of learning. Extra curriculum apart from teaching and learning facilities include college sport amenities, gym and an auditorium. The college has provided hostels only for male students and female students to make a comfortable atmosphere to the outsider students of the college. Also, there is a guest house for the faculty and guests and students’ families who visit the university.

Admission in PG college of education is offered for different courses and method of admission may differ from one course to another. Admission for B.Ed programme is carried out through an entrance test conducted by the Himachal Pradesh University for its affiliated colleges. The B.P.Ed and D.El.Ed programs have merit based admission policy to the programs, which may entail examination, sports trail, physical fitness test or any other process as per the policy of the university, state government or ut administration. It is for this reason that the college operates under rules authorized by these bodies to provide for a standard admission policy.
