Adarsh Mahila Mahavidyalaya situated at Taranagar, Churu came into existence in 2006 and is a college of education for women. The faculty of education of this institute is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and focused on preparing teachers. At present, the college stands on a land of 2 acres; the college enrolment is 150 students and is guided by 16 teaching faculties. The college has only one programme of study that is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), with an approved enrolment of one hundred students per year, demonstrating the college’s mission to prepare teacher trainers.

Adarsh Mahila Mahavidyalaya has many amenities that are intended to support and improve the learning environment of the students of the college. Knowledge is well contained in a library while practical experiences are obtained in the departmental laboratories. Concerning physical health, the institute has provided for exercise and as a result has a gym. It also has an auditorium for activities such as seminars, accommodating an active academic community. The first aid installations in an Employee Health Centre and efficiently developed IT help students promote an effective approach to the contemporary learning process. The college canteen as well as the guest house helps make the stay of the guests comfortable.

At present, Adarsh Mahila Mahavidyalaya only offers a two-year full-time B. Ed programme that serves as the college’s central academic programme. This specialised approach helps the institute to direct its resources and capacity strictly to train qualified educators. The annual intake for this course is 100 students, yet the college provides quality education because as the limited number of students per class which allows the teachers to spend much time with the students.

The procedure of getting into B.Ed programme at Adarsh Mahila Mahavidyalaya focuses on student’s academic performance. Requirements for the assessment of eligibility include passing class XII examinations, and fifty per cent marks in a Bachelor /Master's degree in Sciences, Social sciences or Humanities. Or candidates possessing with minimum Education of Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Science & Mathematics stream with 55% marks or B.Tech/M.Tech degree from a recognised University with a minimum 55% Marks in the respective discipline can also apply. Academic achievement is well regarded by the college and the institution aims at selecting, students with the potential of becoming professional teachers.
