The Agricultural College and Research Institute at Eachangkottai was started in 2014 which is situated in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. It is a renowned government institution offering agricultural education and research and delivers a five years B.Sc Agriculture (Hons) programme. The institute is established at a large land of 124 acre and has total student enrolment of 290 and total faculty strength of 30. The college has the aim to be an institution that translates quality education to students to enable them succeed in coding, designing and implementing reforms in modern farming and agricultural research.

The Agricultural College and Research Institute provides a number of amenities for the students that may enable them to learn effectively. The library consisting of the main administration building has 2368 text and reference books including online periodicals and research journals through the Cera and DOAJ.  The college has a different arrangement of hostels for boys and girls for accommodation & has 46 rooms for boys and 59 for girls which also consist of reading room, ironing facility, water heater & power generating set. For health and wellness, there's a health centre offering first aid and basic medical services, open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. It has also infrastructure facilities having 15 computers and wifi facility for all, games and sports facilities, Auditorium for events and seminars, Gymnasium, Laboratories and Canteen.

The Agricultural College and Research Institute has only one full-time course, B.Sc Agriculture (Hons) that take four year to complete. This flagship programme has an approved intake of two hundred and eighty four and aims at producing specialised agriculturists. It is structured in such a way that it provides the students with all round knowledge and skills in the different areas of agriculture, with a view to producing skilled manpower that can function effectively in farming, farming research and any other related fields that there heart desires.
