AK Singh College, Japla was establish in 1984 and is an affiliated college in Palamu district of Hussainabad, Jharkhand. This is a university that provides a wide list of bachelor programs in different fields of knowledge. With 6,607 enrolled students, thus being a college, it helps to accommodate a large portion of students within the area. AK Singh College has 16 courses under 5 programmes, with fields of specialisation in arts, commerce and sciences. This aspect of affairs is perhaps best brought out by the fact that the college offers all its courses fully in a full-time study mode non-stop to warrant proper focus.

AK Singh College possesses several structures which aim at improving the learning standards among its learners. We use it as a source of knowledge that students and teachers can turn to for help with any form of education and research activities. As for practical work, the college has retained the department-based laboratories so that students could obtain the necessary practice in their subject. As the principal of AK Singh College, I realized how IT has become an integral component in today’s world and thus set up excellent IT equipment for students to use. Also, the college provides recreational facilities for students and concerns the aspect of the students’ physical development by providing an environment for exercise and practicing group cooperation skills together with the prospects for their academic development.

In the undergraduate level, the selectivity of Ak Singh College is evident because the college presents to its potential students a total of sixteen courses. These courses are mostly full time programs and this is due to the college’s Dickinson College commitment to offering comprehensive, intensive education. The course offerings span across three main streams: Undergraduate programmes include Arts, Commerce and Science and their respective abbreviated names –BA, B.Com and B.Sc. Within these streams, the students have an opportunity to opt for one of the following specialised honours subjects Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Urdu, Sociology, Sanskrit, Psychology, Philosophy, Home Science, History, Geography and Economics. This diverse range of programmes and courses enable the students to follow their areas of professional concerns and gain mastery in their respective fields.
