AKRG College of Pharmacy, Nallajarla, was established in the year 2006. This co-educational, affiliated institution is located in West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. It is approved by PCI with the aim to provide quality pharmaceutical education. This college, located on a compact 1.72-acre campus, has a total enrolment of 407 students with a faculty strength of 24. AKRG College of Pharmacy runs a total of 4 courses, all full-time. The institute offers one undergraduate and three postgraduate programmes. There is one undergraduate programme, B. Pharma; and three postgraduate programmes, M. Pharma in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance, and Pharmacology. The sanctioned intake of all the programmes together is 105. The approved intake for B.Pharma is 60 students; for the three M.Pharma programmes, there are 15 seats for each specialization. This gives wide options at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels for students to have knowledge in diverse areas under pharmaceutical sciences and help them specialise in areas of interest.
Admission to AKRG College of Pharmacy is through a merit-based system. Admissions into the first year of B. Pharma are made based on the rank obtained in AP EAMCET conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State. This ensures admission of only such students who have a good foundation in the subjects relevant for pursuing the course of their choice. The institution accepts scores of GPAT, an institutional-level national entrance test examination for the postgraduate courses for the students seeking admission to the M.Pharma course. This institution has also established an industry-institute partnership cell and a placement and training cell. These cells keep close liaison with the pharmaceutical industry, offering immense placement potential and further study options abroad to students.
