Al Azhar Training College of co-educational institution was set up in the year 2005 and is situated at Thodupuzha – Kerala. As an affiliated college it caters to the teacher education approved by National council for teacher education NCTE. The college is a small institution that is located in a 1.53 acres space, therefore it is a perfect place for intending educators. Al Azhar Training College currently has 96 students and faculty strength of 11 making it easier to follow student-teacher ratio keeping a good quality education and personal attention in mind.

Al Azhar Training College of co-educational institution has many facilities that are meant to improve the lot of the students. These are with different hosts for the boys and girls within the compound with home environment stressing on the feeding and handling of the children. The institution has a good library with the current print and electronic books, journals, periodicals, magazine, and newspapers, and full time has internet connection. For physical fitness needs the college provide sporting amenities, a large ground which has capacity for football, volleyball and cricket, and badminton hall. 

Al Azhar Training College currently offers one primary course, the programme in Spache and specialised in teaching the Bachelors of education for teachers (B.ED). This full time and having a duration of two years has an approved capacity to absorb one hundred students, The institution’s approval is well developed in making qualified teachers. The B.Ed programme is so structured with the intention of preparing the students for the all important profession in the field of education. 

At Al Azhar Training College the admission policy is based on merit whereby the candidate has to produce his/ her certified marks in the qualifying examination and entrance examination. The college admits students strictly in accordance with the rules and regulation framed from time to time by State Government/UT administration and the university to which the college is affiliated.
