Alpha College of Engineering and Technology, Puducherry was set up in 2010 and since then is a brilliant light house of technical education in the scenic union territory. This affiliated college is situated at Dr Bashinagam Nagar, Kanniakoil to Bahour Main Road, and has been building young engineering knowledge for the past ten years. With its approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) the institute boasts several B.Tech programs in engineering fields. Alpha College, employs 82 committed academic staff in order to provide conducive environment for learning amongst its students.

The institutions of learning now available for learners include comprehensive facilities to provide support for learners’ academic and personal development at Alpha College. The campus has laboratories well equipped with mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer science engineering. A good library is an information center that provides books, journals and e-resources which need to be up to date. In this college, students’ convenience is valued where also separate hostels are available for boys and girls for living comfortably as at their home. For students who have passion in indoor and outdoor activities, the institute provides place for sporting activities. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled to support the academic activities and other requirements for students and school in general.

At present; Alpha College of Engineering and Technology provides five full time B.Tech programmes which are offered for four years. These programs focus on fundamental engineering fields, to address various students’ preferences as well as market needs. It is approved for 210 total student intake through all programs offered by the college. The B.Tech programs provided here include Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering Electronics & Communication Engineering Mechanical Engineering, & Information Technology. 

The admission process of Alpha College of Engineering and Technology is simplified to enhance simple and student-friendly process. The general criteria for admission to the engineering colleges tend to be based on the students scores in their 10+2 exams or equivalent with prejudice mathematical, physics and chemical knowledge.
