The inception of Amrit Law College, Roorkee, was done in the year 2012. The college was born as an affiliated college with the vision of imparting legal education in Uttarakhand, India. Situated at Dhanouri, Roorkee, more than a decade prior, this institution has been successfully turning out future legal professionals. This Bar Council of India-approved institution offers two comprehensive law courses with a three-year LLB degree and a five-year integrated BBA LLB degree. 

Among the many amenities that this college has, it is fully equipped with all that is needed for the type of learning at Amrit. A centrally located facility in this regard is the library, which is a treasure house to all appearing lawyers. The institution is well aware of the current dimensions of modern legal practice, and it has provided students with state of the art IT infrastructure to keep them abreast with advances in the digital world concerning the profession. It has the distinction of a well-placed Moot Court facility: that is a simulated courtroom where the students can bear their practical ordeal by applying their theoretical knowledge obtained, to an extent, to go through mock legal proceedings. The Moot Court Association carries on regular activities, such as a Demonstration Moot Court at the start of each academic session, which proves to be very helpful for freshmen to understand the seriousness and details of mooting. For those who seek physical recreation, the college has sports facilities that focus on helping with the wholesome approach to education and health.

Amrit Law College offers two full-time courses in the field of law, both aimed at two different educational backgrounds and aspirations toward career building.
The three-year LLB programme is meant for graduates who intend to take up the study and practice of law as a career. The five-year integrated BBA LLB programme is meant for students fresh out of high school and integrates management studies with legal education. Both the programmes have an approved intake of 120 seats each, making the aggregate approved intake to be 240 seats for both these courses. The programmes are so designed that students will possess an overall understanding of the principles and procedures of law and its practical application both in general practice and in specialist areas.
