Ananda Chandra Training College, Jalpaiguri, established in the year 1958, is one of the prestigious institutions of teacher education in West Bengal. The Affiliated College of the University is located within a compact 2.5-acre campus at Nayabasti, near BSNL Tower. The college is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college offers two full-time programmes: B.Ed and D.El.Ed. Apart from that, the college is also an institution with an intimate learning environment as its total student enrolment is 99 with faculty strength of 10. 

The following are some facilities within the college:. A very rich library is maintained, and it is a treasure house of all the books related to teacher education. Library tickets are issued to students, enabling them to pursue their studies at home through self-study. A reading room is also full of the reference books for direct reading. Ananda Chandra Training College possesses full-fledged psychology, language, visual arts, science, geography, work education laboratories where students practically come to know about learning. The institute, apart from the hostels for the boys and girls separately, also offers hostel accommodation, but most of the time it's hard to come by and is allotted conditionally upon merit. A Health Care Unit for regular quarterly health check-ups by qualified doctors for the effective health of its students has been established. Other facilities like an auditorium for various functions and seminars, a cafeteria, sports facilities, and a gym are available that allows a comprehensive campus life.

The Ananda Chandra Training College runs two main courses in teacher education: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), a full-time two-year course having an approved intake of 100 seats, and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), a two-year full-time program offering 50 seats. 

Admission to Ananda Chandra Training College is strictly on the basis of merit and in accordance with the norms put down by the State Government and the affiliating university. Admission to the B.Ed programme is based on the marks drawn from the eligible examination and/or entrance examination. D.El.Ed. Admission to the course is also merit-based, with the numbers from the qualifying examination or entrance test taken into consideration. The college abides by any other selection procedures carried out based on the guidelines of the state government or the UT administration.
