Arignar Anna Government Arts College established in 1967 is one of the emergent institution located at Cheyyer in Thiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college, approved by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), provides a qualitative multi-disciplinary undergraduate and post graduate programmes. Stretching over 69 acres of area, the college offers total enrolment of students and 74,444 with 47 strength of faculties. The institution offers forty-eight courses in ten programmes of study that includes; arts, science, and commerce.

That is why Arignar Anna Government Arts College has all the necessary amenities which facilitate teaching and learning. The library serv iting both student and staff is stocked with a rich collection of books and other learning materials. That is why each department also has its own specialised library to meet certain academic requirements. In the field of games and sports ,the college provides games like chess, cricket, football, volley ball, badminton and handball for the sports literate. Arignar Anna Government Arts College hosts a large number of programmes and courses which include 15 undergraduate, 14 postgraduate courses, 11 M.Phil and 11 Ph.D. programmes. The college registers a total student enrolment of 6,156 of these 90% are under graduate students while the 10% are post graduate students. All the courses are taken on full time basis to enable the learners receive full intensive learning in their respective areas.
