AS College of Education is a Christian affiliated college which came into existence in the year 2006 located at Madurai, Tamil Nadu. It is an educator campus located across 5.5 acres and is also recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college was approved by the National Council for Teacher Education [NCTE] to foster quality teacher education. AS College of Education has been part of the institutions that offer education courses targeting students with a total intake of 100, while the institution currently employs 13 faculty members.

This college has come equipped with a number of features which can be used in improving students learning. The library of conventional academic asset is weekly operated and it has the book lending operations through tokens. Besides, students can avail photocopying facility at subsidised rate and also they have internet browsing facilities in the library. Accommodation facilities: The institution comprises well-equipped laboratory like education technology laboratory, a language laboratory which assists students in their communication skills. A well furnished computer laboratory is also provided to meet with modern trends in education. As for organizational and infrastructural base for extracurricular activities and events, the college offers a large auditorium and sports grounds. The campus provides both open-air and indoor games facilities such as badminton, volleyball, cricket, carom, chess etc. A canteen is situated to supply staff and students with food away and a health centre with first aid facilities and more often with a regular doctor check on the college community.

The AS College of Education at Madurai primarily offers teacher education and bears a single full-time course the Bachelor in Education (B.ED) programme. This is a two year programme and per intake the college is approved to admit one hundred students in order to meet its specialty of nurturing future educators.
