Ataur Rahman College of Education, Udmari was founded in the year 2006 and affiliated to, situated in Barpeta of Assam. This institution is NCTE-approved and specialises in teacher education. Situated on a compact 4.31-acre campus, the college offers two full-time courses with a total student intake of 220. With a faculty strength of 19 dedicated educators, Ataur Rahman College of Education maintains a favourable student-to-teacher ratio, ensuring personalised attention and quality education for aspiring teachers.

Ataur Rahman College of Education offers two comprehensive teacher education programmes: Bachelor of Education and Diploma in Elementary Education. Both are regular courses of two years duration. The B.Ed, which trains a student to teach in secondary schools, has an sanctioned intake of 100 seats. The D.El.Ed, meant for primary education, has 50 seats. The courses will help the students to acquire all the necessary skills and knowledge for a bright teaching career on par with the current educational standards and practices. 

The admission to the B.Ed. programme is done according to the rules and regulations formulated by Gauhati University and NCTE. The D.El.Ed course is merit-based, with admission criteria as marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, as prescribed by the policy of the state government.
