ASTRA or Aurora’s Scientific Technological and Research Academy was started in the year 2000 in Hyderabad, Telangana. This affiliated college over an area of 22 acres is well known for its technical education and research activities. ASTRA is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC], and recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE], for maintaining high standard of education. 5 courses are delivered across 2 degrees and student enrolment is 476 where as faculty is 128 which implies the institute has a nice faculty students ratio.

The facilities available in this institution include a theatre, boardroom, science laboratory, art studio, music studio, multimedia room, assembly hall, classrooms and state of art library. The institute has well equipped laboratories for practicals, as per the curriculum, as well as for higher research activities equipped with latest technology. A central workshop to accommodate the research and development processes some of which includes the accuracy tools and machines. Licensed through the school code this library is an indispensable component of any academic process containing more than 44935 volumes on various topics and can seat up to 500 students. It also comprises of an E-Library with 102 periodicals and is also a member of DELNET in support of research activities. Regarding physical fitness, Aurora’s Scientific Technological and Research Academy offers a sophisticated gymnasium, and fine sports amenities for indoor as well as outdoor sports and games. Accommodation also plays an important role which is why the campus comprises of different hostels for boys and girls respectively.

Engineering is provided at the institute as undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in diverse fields. The programmes currently offered by ASTRA are 6 B.Tech programme and 3 M.Tech Specialisations which are as under to meet the latest learning requirements. B.Tech programs offered here include Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Masters Degree in Science Technocrats is awarded at the post graduate level with fields of specialisation. M.Tech programs consist of Computer Science and Engineering and Structural Engineering etc. All our programmes are on full-time basis which ensures the students get enough knowledge and skills in the respective fields.

ASTRA has a formulated admission process to ensure that it meets the approved policy formulated by the Telangana State Higher Education Council (TSHEC). For B.Tech admissions 70% of the seats come under category A which is assigned to the students who passed the TS EAMCET common entrance examination conducted by the state government. The other 30% (Category B) are Management Quota Seats, the admission under which is also conforming to the norms of TSHEC.
