Baba Mathura Das Sitaram Mahavidyalaya, Ballia came into existence in the year 2005 as an affiliated college in Chilkahar, Ballia, in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The educational institute stands at a distance of merely 200 meters from State Highway 34 on Chilkahar Kotwari Road and provides higher education through the co-education learning process to students belonging to the area. The total student population at present stands at 864, along with 9 faculty members. 

Baba Mathura Das Sitaram Mahavidyalaya commits itself to providing a wide range of facilities for the betterment of the students. This includes sports facilities that turn out physically fit students with a sense of teamwork. A well-stocked library acts as a knowledge centre in support of academic pursuit and research activities. The college also has in its fold departmental laboratories so that students get an exposure to practical fields. At present, Baba Mathura Das Sitaram Mahavidyalaya is offering one principal course which is the BA programme. This is a full-time undergraduate course, which runs for three years. It is aimed to be a course of study that provides students with an all-rounded foundation course in Arts and Humanities.
