Baikuntha College of Education, Alipurduar: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Baikuntha College of Education, Alipurduar was established in the year 2016. This is an affiliated college located in West Bengal, India. The co-educational institution is duly approved by the National Council for Teacher Education. The institution offers two specialized courses in education. Spread over a compact 0.99-acre campus, this college has 144 students in total and a faculty of 32 members. Baikuntha College of Education is yet another institution that stresses on teacher education and offers two programs: B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. to the aspiring teachers of this sub–division of the state.

It has a number of infrastructural facilities, which help in enriching the learning process of the learners. A library with 4,500 stock of books serves as the base for resourceful learning. The institution also provides sports facilities and a gym for physical development. The college offers an auditorium to arrange events and seminars that secure a lively campus life. The institution has also arranged a cafeteria, a health center with first-aid facilities, separate hostels for boys and girls, comfort zones in the hostel for residential students. Baikuntha College of Education also provides departmental laboratories, excellent information technology infrastructure, and well-equipped classrooms to support academic activities. The courses proposed by Baikuntha College of Education are two full-time courses of two years. B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. with a total of 200 seats for both. These programs will enable students to pursue teaching and educational fields accordingly, as it was an institution with a prime objective of teacher training.  

The merit-based admission process at Baikuntha College of Education involves marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The college adheres to the state government of West Bengal's policies regarding admissions and those put forth by the affiliated university. Admission in the B.Ed. course would be done based on the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination, entrance test, and any other selection process as per the guidelines given by the state and the university. The admission to D.El.Ed. shall also be based on the merit of the candidate in the qualifying examination or entrance examination or any other selection process as decided by the State Government or UT administration.
