Baring Union Christian College commonly known as BUCC was set up in 1944 is one of the well known educational institution situated in Batala, Punjab. The co-educational affiliated college covers an area of 7.187 acres in education and caters for a wide selection of students. BUCC Batala by its familiar name is recognised and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council thus striving for quality education for its students. Academic strength of the college is quite sound with 17 courses in 9 degree programmes, and currently college has a total student enrolment of 1574.

The Baring Union Christian College boasts of an excellent infrastructure necessary for boosting learning achievement as a fundamental goal. Of course, one of the main forms of educational material available to students of BUCC is its large library with a stock of over one hundred thousand books on various topics accompanied by more than one hundred journals and magazines. The playing fields include basketball and volleyball courts, and a cricket field, provided with turfs and cemented nets A block also exists for judo, fencing, lawn tennis and table tennis. In line with the college’s vision of offering a well rounded experience for the students, the college has a well endowed gymnasium that the students can use to keep fit and finally use when preparing for national / international sports events.

BUCC Batala presents a wide ranging choice of courses in several spheres. The institute offers 17 courses; these are the degree courses, diploma courses and masters degree courses. These include full time programs in arts, Commerce, sciences, and Computer applications. The traditional course provisions include the BA, B.Com and B.Sc programs while other more sophisticated programmes include the B.Sc in Economics, Computer Science, and Information Technology. At post graduate level, it offers MA in English, Hindi and Punjabi, M.Sc in Information Technology and Computer Science. BCA, PGDCA, diplomas in Computer Applications and Web Designing professional courses are offered by the college due to the changing demand of employment in the market.

Admission to Baring Union Christian College considers the students who have pass 10 + 2 examination from a recognised board and for the post graduate programmes the candidate should have passed the relevant examination with the having a bachelor degree.
