Behara Subhakar Polytechnic is the affiliated college in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The polytechnic, established with AICTE approval, functioned on a sprawling 2-acre campus with four engineering diplomas. The student intake of the college adds up to 814; it also has a faculty strength of 50. It upholds commitment to quality education with highly varied courses like Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Civil, and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

 Behara Subhakar Polytechnic is one among those institutions, providing four full-time diploma courses spanning three years each. The total intake for these courses, as approved, is 390 seats. Of this, the intake for the Diploma program in Mechanical Engineering is 180 seats, and the Electrical and Electronics Engineering course has an intake of 120 seats. Some of the other courses offered by the college include Civil Engineering with 60 seats and Electronics and Communication Engineering with 30 seats. All courses are provided in full time and the courses also provide students with technical as well as practical education.

The Behara Subhakar Polytechnic is highly influenced by the entrance exam, AP POLYCET. Still, the institute allows other entrance examination candidates. This level of entrance examination is held every year for admissions in various programs in the engineering as well as non-engineering courses. Candidates are eligible to appear for this entrance test seeking admission to the desired programmes. The institute has merit-based selections in proportion to ranks scored during the AP POLYCET examination.
