Bengal College of Pharmaceutical Science and Research, set up in the year 2008, is one of the most reputed institutions in Durgapur, West Bengal. This affiliated college is built over a 2-acre campus with the objective of pharmaceutical education and research. BCPSR is approved by AICTE and PCI and offers various pharmaceutical programs. Although with a total enrolment of 403 students and 37 faculty members.
The college offers a broad spectrum of facilities and features to ensure that the learning experience of students here is excellent. At the very core of all academic resources lies the library. Stocked with more than 8,500 textbooks and reference books, it has a fleet of national and international journals available in hard copies and also as e-journals, offering an excellent learning environment to the students. There are state-of-the-art laboratories under various pharmacy departments, designed and maintained according to PCI and AICTE norms that provide practical exposure to the students in the fields of pharmaceutical research and development. BCPSR also provides amenities for the holistic development of its students, such as separate hostels for boys and girls, gym, sports facilities, and a cafeteria. The technological commitment of the college finds expression in its IT infrastructure, with Wi-Fi connectivity across the campus, to keep students connected and latched on to digital resources.
BCPSR has three full-time courses in the Pharmaceutical field, catering to different levels of pharmaceutical education. The undergraduate course in Bachelor of Pharmacy is a four-year course with 100 seats. In order to provide advanced specialisation, the college is offering two year Master of Pharmacy (M Pharma) in Pharmaceutics with 18 seats. BCPSR also offers a two-year Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) programme with 60 seats. The total intake of students in various programmes at 178, making the college one of those that contribute to the production of professionals who are skillful in the pharmaceutical industry.

Admissions for candidates to BCPSR are accepted through the state level based on merit. For the B.Pharma course, the management accepts the candidates' scores from the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. Similarly, the admissions for aspiring M.Pharma students are based on the West Bengal Post Graduate Entrance Test. Through these entrance tests, the college ensures its admissions are based on a good number of students with a strong foundation in relevant subjects.
