BGS College of Physical Education, Nagamangala: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

BGS College of Physical Education, Nagamangala, was started in the academic year 2011, located in Mandya district of Karnataka state. Recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), this institution offers Bachelor's degree only in Physical Education. Located in the centre of the town on a 9.2 acres of land, the college has a concentrated programme with only one degree. At present, the centre has 33 students enroled and 11 faculty members staffed at the institute. The college offers the course in-line with the college facilities intended to accommodate the students interested in becoming professional physical education teachers.

BGS College of Physical Education has essential amenities with the ultimate aim of improving the academic achievement besides student’s general growth. An efficiently stocked library acts as information centre which is important in achieving the desired academic improvement. Some of the amenities include the sports facilities that give the students concrete exposure to the different sporting disciplines. The college also retains well equipped Information Technology that aid to the new developments in education. On the same note, there is a cafeteria in the compound to suit the students' timetable convenience. The practical aspects concerning physical education training are fulfilled by specialised laboratories. 

An auditorium is a place for events and seminars and thus contributing to the life of the campus. Concerned with the quality of life, a medical facility for first aid services is availed while fitness enthusiasts have an open opportunity to work out at the gym. The college also has arrangement of different hostels for boys and girls as well to facilitate the students looking for a place to stay from far areas.

At present, BGS College of Physical Education has only one full-time course, the Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.). This programme has an admission capacity of one hundred seats, proving  to the ability of this institution to shape many future physical education specialists. The B.P.Ed course provides a complete knowledge of physical education to the students so that they could serve as physical education teachers, coaches, and sport managers.

BGS College of Physical Education follows admission policy as prescribed by the state government and the affiliating university and follows merit system for admission. Students enrolment is determined by a range of tests that are written test, fitness test and an interview. The college also gives consideration to the percentage obtained in the qualifying examination. This will help in getting the right talent who has a passion for physical education.
