Bhavan's Tripura College of Teacher Education, Agartala: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Bhavan’s Tripura College of Teacher Education was set up in 2005 in Agartala and the college aims to build the future of teacher education. This affiliated college is situated in Narsingarh, Agartala and has been approved from the National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE) that paves way for having excellent teacher education programs. Located in a 2.52-acre area, the college provides an extensive personalised learning process for education-related courses. It admits only 200 students while it has appointed a faculty of 10 members thus it keeps a good supremacy of student- faculty ratio.

Today the college has had made provision of a number of new facilities that help make the college and the kind of learning that takes place more effective. An, above all, a large library that is a centre of knowledge, and an auditorium for various meetings and seminars. In our attempt to produce competent technologically inclined graduates, the college has provided good IT equipment. Other facilities include demonstration laboratories, canteen facilities and a first aid station in the health centre. The college also offers opportunities for generating parking fees for visitors and lodging for faculty members and their families when they visit the institution.

Bhavan's Tripura College of Teacher Education offers two full-time courses: Two years B.Ed and two years Diploma in Elementary Education D.El.Ed. It is coordinated such that each of the two streams has 100 student capacity and the two programs offer 200 places in total. These courses are aimed at preparing students for the educational sector to enable them cultivate the right attitude and knowledge set for the job. The need for the college to offer trained teachers is an element that is manifested by the various courses offered that relates to secondary and the elementary level sectors.

This college follows a merit based admission process, especially in the case of B.Ed programme offered in Bhavan’s Tripura College of Teacher Education. To reach Eklavya, students need to excel in the marks’ criterion that the college owns preparing a merit list from the madhyamik standard or tenth standard onwards. This list is prepared separately for every stream Science/Arts commerce and category wise ST/SC/UR/PH/ESM etc to ensure proper and diverse selection.
