Captain Sukhwasi Singh Smarak Janta Mahavidyalaya, Kanpur was established in 1995. This is a college affiliated to the town of Ghatampur, Uttar Pradesh. The institution operates on a spread of 3.1 acres, focusing on providing good quality education on teachers. The NCTE approved this institution so it accords national standard compliance on teacher education nationwide. This college has a total student enrolment of 1,063 and faculty strength of 41, with consequently a favourable student-teacher ratio contributing to an excellent learning environment. 

A well-stocked library in the heart of these facilities provides a venue for academic pursuit with 3,150 books. Besides, the institution provides departmental laboratories for having practical knowledge in different departments. Captain Sukhwasi Singh Smarak Janta Mahavidyalaya has two courses that are full-time for the education department. In total, 100 students are taken for the B.Ed programme and for the D.El.Ed programme, 50 students' intake is on. Both the courses are two years long for which aspirant teachers undertake such all-inclusive training. Admissions to Captain Sukhwasi Singh Smarak Janta Mahavidyalaya are done strictly on a merit basis as per marks obtained in qualifying examinations and entrance tests, where necessary. For B.Ed, admissions are carried out as per directives issued by the State Govt/UT Administration, and as followed by the affiliated University.
