CSIT is one of the key constituent at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad that was set up in 1992. SRR & CVR College of Engineering is a constituent college in Kukatpally, Hyderabad and offers specialized geospatial technologies. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad had launched its postgraduate program in Spatial Information Technology through the Center for Spatial Information Technology (CSIT). The admission process of CSIT was structured to select candidates who were highly qualified to join its M.Tech program. CSIT maintains a robust and competitive admission policy where the major criterion is national-level entrance examinations.
The institute takes applications through two major ways, which are Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET). GATE is usually conducted in February, while TS PGECET is usually between May and June.
For G.T. admissions, the season for entering students has been:
GATE-based admissions require students to take the respective GATE exam paper that covers their subject area. GATE welcome letters are given out in early January, while examinations take place February, with March usually reserved for announcing results.
TS PGECET admissions would take place according to the schedule published by the Hey State Council of Higher Education in Telangana. The processes involved in application, examination dates, and results announcement are largely scattered between May through July.
The eligibility criteria for the M.Tech program at CSIT depend on the candidate having a bachelor's degree in the respective engineering field or technology. M.Tech Spatial Information Technology: CSIT provides a specialized two-year, full-time Master's program in Technology in Spatial Information Technology.
