Center for Spatial Information Technology, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

CSIT is one of the key constituent at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad that was set up in 1992. SRR & CVR College of Engineering is a constituent college in Kukatpally, Hyderabad and offers specialized geospatial technologies. CSIT on the other hand provides direction with its core program being the Master of Technology in Spatial Information Technology. Even though it is a small center, it can offer the faculty that has one dedicated professional that can provide students with individual concentration. CSIT institute’s vision of provailing modern technology t is further endorsed by its admitting procedure where it accepts students through core entrance examination such as GATE and TS PGECET.

CSIT offers a variety of services for an academic setting as part of its offering. The center has an advantage of being affiliated to JNTU Hyderabad; the university has resourceful laboratory and an established IT support. Nowadays, one can point on the fact that the school provides an electronic library, in which there are 30 modern computers that allow students to use, for example, an e-book or access the materials provided in catalogs, which contain the works of the reputable publishers. This depository of approximately twenty lakhs consists of premium journals and databases to supports advanced research and project based work. The campus also provides enough sports facilities such as basketball and volleyball, an updated gym as a way of addressing students’ quality life.

The Center for Spatial Information Technology focuses on postgraduate education, offering a single, specialized course: Post Graduate Master in Technology in Spatial Information Technology. The two-year, full-time program has the approved student intake of eighteen students to maintain high teacher-student ratio and the quality of teaching the center offers. The premise of the course is to familiarize students with leading-edge tools that will be necessary to deal with tasks connected to geospatial technologies, in preparation for working in this quickly developing sphere. 

The admission process of the M.Tech program of CSIT is organized and rigorous at the same time. Prospective students can gain entry through two primary channels: GATE, TS PGECET etc., The students need to complete their post graduation courses like M.Tech., M.Pharm and MCA through some entrance exam like the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or the Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET). 

The counselling for admission is provided under the Telangana State Council of Higher Education thereby providing a criterion based admission. CSIT, being a part of the university of JNTU Hyderabad is privileged with the good alumni base of the university. However, there is no information on specific scholarships for CSIT students; however, all students might qualify for any government or institutional scholarships, which the university offers.
