The C-DIT or the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology was set up in 1988 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and is a premier facility that strives for improving the process of imaging and associated digital media. Located in the scenic Chithranjali Hills, this government administrative institution is aesthetically accommodated in a small area of 3 acres and has emerged as a centre for creativity here. C-DIT has six specialized programmes in two levels of degree programmes which target fields in the areas of emerging technologies in fields such as digital journalism, multimedia design and animation film design. The Patna’s institute offers an environment with 20 efficient teaching staffs and well-experienced faculties according to the IT industry’s demands for the latest transformation.

C-DIT’s vision is on making learning fulfilling through availing of technology facilities to learning institutions. Students are provided with a well stocked library of books, journals and other digital media resources related to the imager technology available at the institute. Also, C-DIT was providing departmental laboratories with the real environment to use the state-of-the art tools and technologies of the related fields with the help of the instructors. 

The Centre for Development of Imaging Technology currently has six full time courses offered for students, relating to different specifying in the field of digital media and technology. Some of these programs are four Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) courses and the other two Diploma courses which are also tailored to enable a student develop specialized skills and knowledge. 

The PGD programs include Digital Journalism, Science and Development Communication, Multimedia Designing and Animation Film Design The diploma programs, on the other hand include Digital Media Production and Web Design and Development. These well-selected programs showcase the institute’s concern for responding to the emerging demands of the new world of digital media.

When it comes to admissions, C-DIT ensures that this centre screens candidates with the necessary attitude for digital media and technology. This is why it is done for programs such as: PGD in Multimedia Designing and PGD in Animation Film Design ; the admission to which is done through aptitude test and interview.
