The centre was established in 2008 in the campus of Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. The compact campus of 0.2682 acres assures a dense environment for learning. It offers 3 degree levels with an extremely specialized concentration of 9 courses specifically related to History, Political Science, and Sociology about the life and works of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The Centre provides a variety of facilities for academic activities. An adequately equipped library catering to all needs in the domain of research and study is under its command.
