In Uttar Pradesh, the Chanmati Educational and Teacher Training Institute Gorakhpur has stepped into the year of 2017 and continues to shine bright among the best educational establishaments. Affiliated to Lucknow University, this college at Gayatri Nagar, Kunraghat aims at producing quality teachers of future. Recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the institute has adequate teaching facilities on a tiny area of 0.75-acre of land. The institute is currently furnished with 98 students and 13 faculty members, thus adopting a small-scale education philosophy. This school is at the moment providing two select degree progonrams for the pre-service elementary, junior and secondary schools teachers.

At Chanmati Educational and Teacher Training Institute, there are only two full time courses which takes two years each. The curriculum for the B.Ed course is spread over a period of two years, and there are 100 seats of admission, while there are 100 seats of admission for the D.El.Ed course that is of one year duration. These programs are intended to prepare students for their professional practices in teaching. Focusing two core programs enables the institute to provide close attention to teacher education so as to graduate competent teachers depending on the modern classroom challenges. 

The admission process of Chanmati Educational and Teacher Training Institute is different for different programs. For the B.Ed course, it is the entrance examination conducted by a state government university which determines who gets into the course. Candidates who meet these requirements undergo counseling to choose the specific training institute of their choice. The D.El.Ed program is different in that online applications are open to state-level graduate students. The candidates who have to appear for this program are selected on the basis of the percentage of marks scored by them in high school, intermediate and graduation respectively and through online counselling.
