Cholan College of Education of Karai, located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu is an affiliated college started in 2005 by M.M. Cholan Educational Trust. This co–educational institution accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education of India (NCTE) caters to offer teacher education programmes. Situated on a 5.15-acre campus, the college offers two full-time courses: in total 290 students B.Ed and M.Ed courses are offered in this college. This faculty consists of 21 members and hence the college maintains a good student teacher ratio which is always appreciated and greatly facilitates the teaching learning process.

Cholan College of Education has set the following facilities: The following are among the facilities set within the college: There is enough literature in the library with over 8100 number of books, 2500 textbooks and 252 reference books. Besides, there are thirty total magazines and thirty total journals, five of which are magazines produced in foreign countries, and digital resources. For practical learning, the college offers academic departmental laboratories, thereby comprising of; Psychology Laboratory, Educational Technology Laboratory, Physical Science Laboratory, Biological Science Laboratory, and Computer Science Laboratory, An Auditorium for occasions and seminars, College Cafeteria and a Health Centre with First Aid facilities, and Sports facilities. The college provides care to the health of the student through the provision of a gym facility while it provides aptitude in the use of technology through its IT provision.

Cholan College of Education offers two primary courses: a Bachelors of Education [B.ED] and Masters of Education [M.ED] programme. They are both day programmes that take two years to complete and whose aim is to produce professionals who can teach at various schools, colleges, and even universities. Such programmes are set out in such a way that the students taking them get an ample knowledge of the education theories, the teaching techniques and even administration of schools.

The criteria for selection of candidates in Cholan College of Education entail the marks achieved in the qualifying test and/or the entrance examination. Concerning the B.Ed programme, admission is given in accordance with the policy formulated by state government, UT Administration, and the University. Likewise, for M.Ed programme also the admission procedure that is to be followed has been prescribed by the state government, the University or the UT Administration. 

Cholan College of Education as an institute for teacher education apart from providing quality education facilitates skilled and knowledgeable educators.  Although the institution is still relatively young it aims at developing the future leadership of education through preparation of the best teachers.
