Christ College, Irinjalakuda: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Christ College, Irinjalakuda, is an autonomous institution which was set up in 1956 at Irinjalakuda, Thrissur, Kerala district. A co-educational institution, accredited by NAAC; this college offers 53 courses spread over 15 degree programmes. The college occupies a total area of 64 acres and has a total of 3,762 students, male to a female ratio is 48:52. This institute is well recognised for its academic discipline having 69 faculty members committed to serving this great campus. As a learning institution, Christ College provides undergraduate and postgraduate education to its students covering various Fields of discipline, such as sciences, arts, commerce and professional degrees.

Christ College, Irinjalakuda offers a cohort of modern complexes that serve to supplement the college’s learning objectives. The foggy campus is supported by well-equipped laboratories, a computerised library with more than 70000 books and state of art IT facility with 264 computers. For the enthusiast, there are vast sporting amenities; an athletics track, football pitch; basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts; and an Olympic size 10 lane indoor shooting range. Christ College, Irinjalakuda also includes different hostel facilities for boys and girls which have the facility of 344 and 155 inmates respectively. Others relate to a multi-gym health club, dining halls, an expansive theatre and Internet services across the compound.

The departments and faculties of Christ College include 36 Undergraduate courses, 15 Postgraduate courses, and six Doctoral programmes. BA, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Voc, and M.Sc are some of the courses. The institute offers courses both with and without its own financial support, thus encompassing a wide range of disciplines.  The college has been in a position to produce success, and more often, several students have been graduating every year.

There are two ways to the admission process at Christ College. The first is the University’s directed Common Admission Process (CAP) which is organised according to the single-window system. However, the college also operates a decentralised admission process for some of its programmes as well. Though aided courses are mostly merit-based, self-financed courses have a 50% management quota and a 50% merit quota. 

The students have an option of joining Christ College where this institution has several scholarships that need to be granted to deserving students and more so many students have been awarded scholarships. The college has many successful alumni who have succeeded in many fields; science, banking, chartered accountancy, medicine, law, politics and entertainment among others, thus adding to the college's impressive reputation.
