The College of Agriculture, Bijapur, recognised in the year 1990, is one of the constituent college located in Karnataka, India. Located on a massive area of 394.7 acres, College of Agriculture, Bijapur is associated with animal and agricultural sciences. The college provides multiple programs subsidy, with 6 courses at 2 degree levels. With a total enrollment of 675 students, the college maintains a balanced gender ratio of 2:1 (male to female). The institution has a pool of qualified faculty of 41 members in order to provide quality and personal care to the students. They include Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Agricultural Entomology, and Agricultural Economics to mention but a few, thus making it an ideal place for any would be agricultural professional.

The College of Agriculture, Bijapur, has a number of facilities that are to help the students make their learning experience better. The campus offer brand new and fully equipped laboratories suitable for practical sessions and research across different fields of agriculture. A lot of cover age is provided by a collection of books, journals, and other study materials, which is housed in a library. College of Agriculture, Bijapur also provides special hostel accommodation for both male and female students to enhance students comfort. Thus, for the purpose of the comprehensive development, the institution avails sporting activities/facilities and a gym where the students can exercise as well as study. A particular building on campus is an auditorium which is used in occasions and seminars in order to promote brainstorming. The College of Agriculture, Bijapur, is quite commendable in its history: and is one of the constituent colleges in Karnataka, India.  Well balanced: undergraduates from outside the state constitute about 5 percent of the student body; postgraduate students from outside Karnataka account for almost 2 percent. This makes for a lively and stimulating setting for learning. The comprehensive admission procedure considers many factors to ensure that students most compatible with programs are chosen.

This basically prepares the aspiring practitioners in the field of agriculture. Besides postgraduate programs leading to M.Sc in different specialized fields of agriculture meant to empower students with additional knowledge in specialized areas of agricultural science, M.Sc postgraduate programs are also offered.

Application Process

The application processes at the College of Agriculture, Bijapur were made to be comprehensive and fair. Here follows the depiction of the broad perspective of steps involved:

1. Notification: Admission notification regarding various programs is issued on the official website of the college and through other media.

Degree-wise Admission Procedure

B.Sc Agriculture: The flagship undergraduate program to the College of Agriculture, Bijapur. This program has an intake capacity of 125 students and thus remains to be one of the most sought after. The admission of candidates is dependent upon the marks secured in the 10+2 or equivalent examination, mainly with a concentration on science subjects. The course duration is of 4 years.

M.Sc Agronomy: This postgraduate program focuses on the science of production of different crops and soil management practices. Admission for this program is generally based on the aggregate score obtained in bachelors in agriculture or related fields, followed by an entrance exam and/or interview. 

M.Sc Agricultural Entomology: This course specializes in insects as they relate to agriculture. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in agriculture or related fields are eligible to apply. The program may involve an entrance examination and interview as part of the selection process.

M.Sc Plant Pathology: This involves a study of diseases of plants. Owing to the broad nature of the undergraduate degrees relevant to this program, candidates with related bachelor's degrees are welcome to apply. The candidate's skills and knowledge in this subject may be assessed using an entrance examination and interview. 

M.Sc Genetics and Plant Breeding: This is for prospective students that are interested in crop improvement and genetic studies. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in agriculture or related fields could apply. An entrance test and interview could be included in the examination procedure.

M.Sc Agricultural Economics: The study merges agriculture with economics. Candidates could apply after obtaining a degree in agriculture or in economics. There might be an entrance examination and interview as a selection process to determine whether the candidate has an understanding of the agricultural system and concepts of economics.

Hello Aspirant,

Every student admitted to the hostel should pay a mess deposit of 10,000 rupees.But since you belong to SC/ST category your fee would be 8,000 rupees if you have Government of India Scholarship.This mess deposit shall be refunded to the you after deducting arrears of the hostels, if there is any at the time of vacating the hostel.

Other than this deposit amount, the time of admission these are the other fee expenses you will have  every year:

Application form (Each year) : Rs. 200.00

Admission fees : Rs. 250.00

Reading room and sports fees : Rs. 250.00

Upkeep and maintenance of utensils : Rs. 300.00

Residents shall pay the following charges every month

Room rent : Rs.150.00

Maintenance Charges : Rs.150.00

Establishment charges : Rs.100.00

You should also pay the monthly mess, electricity and contractual labour charges as per the actuals notified by the Chief Warden / Warden from time to time.

Note that you are expected to pay the fee within a given time beyond which you may have to pay fine for late payement. Hence, kindly refer their official website to clearly read about hostel admissiom guidelines .

The College of Agriculture,Bijapur does not offer Diploma courses. It only offers B.Sc and M.Sc courses.
The application forms were released in the month of May but the admission process is yet to start.

Yes you can through management quota.Theadmissiontobsc agriculture can be done in mainly two ways. One is through the entrance exam conducted by ICAR or any other state authority. The next option is that you can takeadmissiondirectly throughmanagement quota. Managament quota is something which varies collegeto college and so you will have to really visit the institutes in which you are interested to take admission to know the managment quota process.
