College of Applied Science, Malampuzha: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Affiliated College College of Applied Science, Malampuzha started in 2008, is an affiliated college situated in Palakkad, Kerala. This institution provides a narrow specialization of undergraduate programs in the area of computer science and electronics, commerce. Overall the college offers education to 242 students enabling the college to offer personalized education. The campus, situated at Kallepully PO, Palakkad, offers three full-time degree programs: They are B.Sc Computer Science, B.Sc Electronics, and B.Com Computer Application. 

The College of Applied Science Malampuzha has several major amenities to enhance the learning and overall development of the student. The library is without a doubt one of the key points of the institution focusing on the needs in information and knowledge for both students and staff. It contains a good stock of technical books especially the new edition and new topics in Computer Science, Electronics, Commerce & Management. 

The college also provides well meaningful laboratories that will give students practical expose of handling some of the tools, cables, and testing equipment they have been taught about. Students become more accustomed with different chips, boards, sensors, and powers on devices by making them encounter real time feelings. Moreover, the college pays special attention to the computerisation since the role of computer education increases throughout the world economy. This entails that different methods in practice should enable students to practice for hours so that they can foster their skills in dealing with current technology.

Altogether the college provides three undergraduate courses and all of the courses are on a full-time basis. Such courses are B.Sc Computer Science, B.Sc Electronics and B.Com Computer Applications. The total approved intake for these courses is 114 students per year, for B.Sc Computer Science and B.Sc Electronics the intake is 32 and for B.Com Computer applications it is 50. This is possible in other research areas because it enables a more focused approach in each area of discipline under study.

It can be seen that the College of Applied Science, Malampuzha follows a mark’s distribution plan where students are admitted based on a percentage obtained in optional subjects in the higher secondary examination. This way the students who have knowledge in the prerequisite subjects will be selected to each programme. The results of the B.Sc Computer Science and B.Sc Electronics take course XII science stream marks into account while the B.Com Computer Applications takes into account marks in commerce subjects offered in the XII standard.
