College of engineering poonjar (CEP) is an autonomous institution launched in the year 2000 which is located at Thekkekara, Kottayam – Kerala. This institute has been approved by the AICTE and the institute has a area of 25 acres of campus and all the commercial standards and facilities are available here. CEP has 158 student enrolled through the college at the moment and the college is privileged to have 10 faculty members. The college provides 7 courses of study at three levels and focuses on engineering and computer application. This has been made possible by its belief in quality education and appropriate curriculum inputs that makes CEP a centre of choice for those who wish to be engineers or technologists in the region.

The institute offers 3 diplomas, 2 B.Tech courses and 1 post graduation course. These are diploma courses namely Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics Engineering which take three years to complete and each offering intakes of 60 students. At undergraduate level, CEP has the B.Tech degrees in Computer Science Engineering as well as Electronics and Communication Engineering which take four years in total. Computer Science Engineering student intake is 60 students. In postgraduate level, the college offers a 2 year MCA course with a seat capacity of 30 students. CEP’s student population stands at 158 for all programmes offered occasioning a compact learning environment in the school.

The admission procedure at College of Engineering, Poonjar is different based on the programme of study.
