The College of Fisheries, Udaipur,was established in the year of 2010 as an affiliated college of Rajasthan,India. This is a co-educational institution that PIC has given its seal of approval through the Indian Council for Agricultural Research, giving this institution the quality education it deserves in the field of fisheries. The college has a faculty of 9 members and provides specialized education to the students who want to make their career in fisheries. The college currently has a total enrolment of 111 students and still has a special male to female ration of 86:14 respectively all are from Rajasthan state.
LAWS scaffold of the College of Fisheries Udaipur includes some of the following facilities which can facilitate its student: College own library has a collection of more than 4000 books, technical reports, theses and periodicals and National and International Journal subscriptions online. For parts of the practical training, departmental laboratories are provided to the students. The campus also comprises of a girls’ hostel and adequate hostels to provide comfortable accommodation for the female and male student respectively. Concerning the health and fitness, the school has modern gym facilities to allow 10-12 students to exercise at a go. A canteen is functional during working hours in order to address the nutritional requirements of the college. The college also has a health centre with sections that deals on first aid for students with this section coming as a sure priority. In a view of creating a spirit of association, the college has put in place an active alumni association.
The college of Fisheries in udaipur mainly tries to offer specialisations in fisheries science stream. We provide a single fully occupied undergraduate BEP, the Bachelor of Fishery Science (B.F.Sc) which takes a period of four years to complete. The college currently has an intake capacity of 30 seats for this programme to enroll the interested candidates interested in making a career in fisheries sector.
Currently the pattern observed for admission at the College of Fisheries, Udaipur, is mainly in terms of Joint Entrance Test (JET) examination. This competitive examination also has the advantage of placing deserving candidates in the B.F.Sc programme. It is thus recommended that any prospective student should begin exam preparation for JET in line with the next examination dates. The college also provides scholarship programmes to the students, from the year 2022 survey, 111 undergraduate student were give some form of reimbursement. This is the college’s effort to encourage and support the fisheries education by ensuring that deserving student get the very best education despite the aspect of finance.
