College of Horticulture, Kolar It is a constituent of the year 2009 located at Tamaka, Kolar, Karnataka. Located on National Highway NH-75, this institute is devoted to horticulture with academic and research interests. Situated on a forty acres, the college is recognised by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research that guarantees high quality education in the filed of horticulture. The college currently has 298 students and this is served by 19 lecturers hence the college avails a good student teacher ratio. Right now the institute offers only one course, B.Sc. Horticulture (Hons.), and it is a full time course that takes four years to complete.

The College of Horticulture, Kolar possess infrastructure facilities needed to augment the student’s experience. The campus has well endowed practical and research laboratories to support horticulture learning and other related areas. A good library is very important to facilitate easy access to the students to knowledge and other literature relating to horticulture. More to the college and for those who love and engage in sports, the college provides sporting facilities and a gym. The campus also provides dormitory facilities for male and female students to accommodate those students who come from distant regions. The college also tends to modern education by having a reasonable IT system enabling technologically based education and research.

This is on the basis of the programme that the college offers to the students in Horticulture that is the B.Sc. Horticulture (Hons.). This MBA course is run as a four-year full time programme and is the flagship of the institute. Although details of its total seats/ intake and specialisation are not given, its syllabus might encompass the following subjects: fruit science, vegetable science, floriculture, post harvest technology and plant protection etc. Hence most of the course structures are directed towards the maintenance of horticulture industries, research institutes and agricultural extension services.
