Crescent B.Ed.College, Kannur popularly known as CBE was established in 2005 at Payangadi, Kerala, affiliated to the Kannur University. This women’s institution, recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is affiliated and focuses on providing programmes for Special Education on its 7 acres of land. Crescent B.Ed. College is a small institution that boasts of a total student intake of 200 and 16 faculties Making It Convenient for learners who seek to become educators themselves. The college currently offers two full-time courses: Two years B.Ed. Programme and two years Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.) courses, 100 intake capacity each.

The college has the following facilities to cater for all aspects of the student’s need. Its rich library offers the students various forms of literature in different subject fields, magazines, and periodicals with a browsing system for the digital library. The facility has been developed with new sophisticated teaching rooms and subject based practical rooms. Extra-curriculum activities include sporting activities that may be provided by the sporting facilities the school has or other activities within the auditorium where functions such as seminars are conducted. 

The college has also embraced the welfare of the students hence has a health center to provide first aid. For consumption Local Foods are served for the day, they have a canteen that serves both students and stuff. The IT facility provides for students acceptable control of contemporary technologies necessary for the effective functioning of modern educational systems.

Its range of educational courses directly encourages the needed teachers needed across the country offered by Crescent B.Ed. College. The institution provides two core programmes: The two programmes are the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). Both are two year full-time courses with the intake capacity of one hundred students in each programme. This structure has provision for total student enrolment of 200, to afford each student an opportunity to be given enough attention and quality education. Teacher training offered by the college plays an important role in the educational Process, providing trained and qualified personnel for the development of people.

Crescent B.E.d. College also follows proper admission procedure for admission into different teachers education programmes. The general admission requirement suiting for the B.Ed. programme is that applicants’ scores of the degree examination is taken into consideration where marks/grades achieved in Part III (core & complementary), or Part I/Part II common courses as deemed appropriate. This approach serves the purpose of making certain that candidates who excel academically are selected to take the programme.
