Situated in the beautiful town of Darjeeling, West Bengal, the Darjeeling Universal Campus, College of Education, has started functioning relatively recently. Being a co-educational college, the institution offers teacher education. Although it is an affiliated college with a separate identity of its own, it functions as a constituent unit of the parent university. The institution has also obtained recognition from the National Council of Teacher Education, New Delhi, thus proving that the institution is committed to quality teacher education. Spread over a small area of 2.11 acres, DUC maintains an ideal learning atmosphere with its 194 students and 17 teachers.

The infrastructure includes all modern facilities that help in developing the learners, and the amenities also facilitate different academic pursuits. Darjeeling Universal Campus provides all learning resources and serves as a one-stop center for research and study. DUC has well-established, department-specific, well-equipped laboratories for hands-on studies. Further, acknowledging the importance of physical health, the college provides sports facilities and a gym for every student to exercise regularly. An auditorium on campus will be the venue for events, seminars, and other cultural activities that draw the scholars together in good bonding. The IT infrastructure ensures that the students are exposed to state-of-the-art technology and therefore are well-prepared for any type of digital future that awaits them in education. In terms of accommodation, in order to make them feel at home away from home, DUC provides separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. There is a campus cafeteria where students and staff can spend time relaxing and refueling, and there is also a guest room for visiting faculty and family members.

At present, Darjeeling Universal Campus imparts only one major course: the B.Ed. course. This two-year, full-time course aims at turning the student into a serviceable teacher. This focused approach allows the institute to channel its resources and expertise toward providing high-quality teacher education.

The admission process to Darjeeling Universal Campus, College of Education, is governed by its affiliating university. Candidates first register themselves and meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Next, applicants have to deposit the admission fee. Based on the above-mentioned guidelines, a merit list of candidates is issued by the affiliating university. The admission process is transparent and hence based on merit with regard to the educational standards duly laid down for the same.
