Daryn College of Education for Women, Jamkhandi, was started in the year 2008, is exclusively for women and situated at Bagalkot, Karnataka. This affiliated college approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) provides specialisation in teacher training. Located on a mere 2 acres of compound, the college offers admission to 182 students at the moment, all of them are women, in line with its mission to empower women through education. At present total faculties are 9 that maintain our student-faculty ratio sufficiently low, which ultimately helps in providing quality education and individual attention.

The college has laid down a number of infrastructural structures aimed at improving the teaching and learning of the college students. A showcase library contains text on numerous styles of teaching and national as well as international journals to support the educational resources for the trainee teachers. The campus has standardized interiors providing general classrooms and psycho, science, and other practical laboratories. Towards personality as well as psychomotor development, the college provides infrastructures for sports and games accompanied by a physical instructor. An auditorium is used in holding events and seminar’s and creates a strict academic climate. The college also has concern with regard to student welfare Whereby the facility has a health center with first aid amenities and the facility for girls hostel with full time warden for the out-station students.

Daryn College of Education for Women has large concentration on teacher education, thus it provides only one full time course i.e. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme. This two year programme has been approved to take in 100 intakes and, serves the purpose of producing prospective teachers with sound knowledge on theories and practice of education. The fact that it offers only B.Ed programme means that the college can make and allocate all its efforts and knowledge on delivering quality teacher training programme. 

The admission procedure of Daryn College of Education for Women is maintained to fulfill the rules and regulation from state government and the affiliated university. The admission process here is merit base with reference to the marks secured in the qualifying examination. Besides, the college can also consider entrance examination scores or use other methods relating to the Selection Criteria as laid by the Karnataka state government and the University to which the college is affiliated.
