DAV College Amritsar was established in the year 1955 as one of the premier co-educational institutions situated in the main city of Amritsar in the state of Punjab. This affiliated college recognized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has been grooming the young generation for more than half a century. It is situated on a fairly small plot of 2 acres.The college currently has a student disposition of 2,751 enrollments with a gender spread of 1,834 male and 605 female students thus illustrating a responsive and diverse learning college. DAV College has a reputable faculty comprised of 122 dedicated teachers, due to which it has a good number of students in a class which also has a small lecture hall and a good student-faculty ratio. 

The fact that the college offers all-round development, is evident from the fact that they have well-endowed sports facilities. A large space for outside sports such as basketball, football, tennis, and cricket, alongside the interior amenities for badminton, ping pong, and chess activity helps students to remain fit and active, along with their academic performance. Realizing the need for exposure to practical Sessions DAV College has set up an efficient Training and Placement Cell. The main objective of this department has been to ensure that, the performance of the students is improved and prepared for the job market. The college provides students with 31 courses for 15 degrees which will suit the different preferences of learners..
