DAV College of Education, Abohar: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Introducing DAV College of Education located in the town of Abohar, in the Indian state of Punjab and the college itself has been in existence since 1968. It is a co-educational institution and accredited to Panjab University, which aims at producing future teachers. The college is located in 3 acre area and currently provides three specified courses in education and for total number of students enrolment is 611 only. DAV College of Education has designed a team of thirty dedicated faculties to provide appropriate students-teacher ratio. 

The college has various amenities that can be considered as modern facilities to cater the college academic needs. A spacious, fully air conditioned library is also instrumental as the principle teaching point, with collections of books and journals as well as electronic resources within the institution. This modern automated library system, and barcode based circulation though simple are richness in knowledge. Students are able to use state of the art computers with internet through Wi-fi which in a way the students’ technological experience is developed. To this end, the college boasts a fully equipped gym and a sundry of other sports facilities such as basketball and volleyball grounds, indoor badminton court and a track for athletics. In the interest of the students, the campus has provided separate hostels for boys and girls, canteen facility and adequate parking space available.

These include the Bachelors Degree in Education (B.ED), Masters degree in Education (M.ED) and a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.ED). Constants are a list of programmes offered by the Institute which include the Bachelor of Education (B.ED), Master of Education (M.ED) and the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.ED). 

Admission procedures of DAV College of Education differ from programme to programme being in tandem with the needs of teacher training at various classes. For the B.Ed programme the selection process is depend upon the merit of the qualifying examination (B.A./B.Sc/B.Com.). It is also conducted online with the coordination of Panjab University, Punjabi University or G.N.D University with following norms of NCTE, Panjab University and Punjab Government. The M.Ed admissions are done as per the test conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh they also take into consideration the merit of the respective qualifying exam.
