DAV Training College, Kanpur was set up in the year 1948. The college is located at Civil Lines, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Being an affiliated college and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education, NCTE, DAV Training College has been producing the future teachers for over seven decades. Situated on a congested campus of 1.03 acres, it has focused committed learning for 160 enrolled students. There is a student-faculty ratio of 40:1 so that individualized attention is provided to every student who wishes to be a teacher.

The college has numerous facilities that exist to enhance the learning experience from the students in college. The library is the lifeblood for all the learning as it is for enough resources concerning research and studies. DAV Training College is a teacher education institution only which offers only one course-the two-year full-time B.Ed programme. This single focus allows the institution to focus its resources and expertise in churning out excellent teachers. It is being granted an approved intake of 100 seats, which reflects the seriousness of the college towards maintaining the class strength optimum for better learning. The intensive curriculum properly readies a sizeable number of its graduates for all current challenges of education.

The admission procedure to the B.Ed course of the DAV Training College is pretty simple and strictly on merit basis. The applicants wishing to join the B.Ed course need to appear for a Common Entrance Test held by the state in which he/she is applying from. Since the college admits students strictly based on the merit list, which it prepares in consultation with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, it goes strictly on these lines only for proper selection.
