Dayanand Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Siwan, was founded in the year 1972. It is one of the pioneering institutions in the state of Bihar, India. This affiliated college offers courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Ayurveda. The faculty strength of this college is 35, and it occupies a campus of 5.5 acres. Traditional Ayurvedic practices are offered at this institute under three courses at two degree levels. Dayanand Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital runs a total of three full-time courses. The institute's prime course is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery with an intake of 60 students. At the postgraduate level, it offers two specialty programs: MD Kayachikitsa and MD Dravyaguna Vigyana, with both of these programs having an intake capacity of four seats each. Courses tend to provide detailed theoretical knowledge with practical skills on different aspects of Ayurvedic medicine. On the other hand, the institution runs courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, showing its commitment towards the development of Ayurvedic professionals who possess diverse competencies.
Dayanand Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital is based on merit, and admissions are done on a structured basis. Admissions to BAMS are done on the basis of performance in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Neet). A candidate applying for the said program has to clear the national level examination to be eligible for admission. For postgraduate courses like MD Kayachikitsa and MD Dravyaguna Vigyana, admission to the courses has been incorporated based on the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test.
