Dayavihar Degree College, Kanas became a reality in the year 1990 – 1991 at Puri, Odisha, where both boys and girls students can study. This affiliated college, located in a 6 acre area, provides a wide range of under graduate courses. Affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) the college has come to be recognised in the sphere of higher learning. The student enrolment at Dayavihar Degree College is 1,083 in total including both girls and boys and a faculty strength of 35 in total.

This college has many facilities aimed at improving the general learning environment within the institution. State of the art library is one of the main academic resources, containing 8000 books and 2000 magazines, and periodicals. The campus is aware with Wi-Fi technology and several places in the campus provide service to the students and staff. To support practical learning the college has seven computerised laboratory for the subject such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Education and Geography. The large area is used in different functions and seminars which have boosted the life on the campus. There is a college canteen where students can relax Besides, the serving of refreshment is available from 9 am to 5pm from Monday to Friday. It also focuses on health and physical fitness where it has a YRC Unit which offers simple health attention and also conducts health assessments frequently.

Dayavihar Degree College is well equipped with undergraduate courses that consist of 16 full-time courses from arts, science and commerce streams such as BA Hons., B.Com Hons., B.Com, B.Sc, B.Sc Hons., and more. 

The admission process in the Dayavihar Degree College is fully merit-based and it is fair too. General admission procedure of undergraduate degrees is to offer all sorts of BA, B.Sc, B.Com and honors are also offered.
