Desh Bhagat college of Education came into the composite year 2005 is located in Bardwal Dhuri, Sangrur Punjab. This is a co-educational college located in a 10 acre plot of land which is focusing on preparing future educators. It is an NAAC accredited institution which runs under the approval of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) affiliated to the Mysore University, Karnataka. Being an affiliated college, the institution provides three full time courses in education and the total admission capacity is 211. The institute has 58vhighly qualified faculty members so that the ratio between the number of students and teachers is moderate and students can avail the proper attention and proper education.

Desh Bhagat college of Education has several facilities put in place with aim of improving on the learning of their students. A fully stocked library has book collection of over 4764 and 15 journals to ensure appropriate’ environment for research and learning. There is purpose-built computer Lab and Internet Connection and that enhance ICT training on the campus. For complete personality development, the college has sports facilities; basketball, volleyball, kho-kho, and badminton playing fields, indoor games like chess, and table tennis. A gym is provided to those who would like to exercise and improve their health. Desh Bhagat College of Education has got two broad areas of a course in Education. They are Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Master of Education (M.Ed) . All programmes are full time The B.ED and M.ED courses take two academic years to complete. It enrols the largest number of students with 100 students under B.Ed programme, 50 students for M.Ed . These diverse range of programme meets the need of prospective educators at different stages, from the novice teacher set out for the classroom to the experienced teacher who wants to go further in his/her education and become an instructional leader and or researcher.

Admission policies of Desh Bhagat College of Education are based purely on merit standard as a demonstration of college’s emphasis on education. As for the admission of the B.Ed programme the selection process depends on the marks which the students secure in their qualifying examination, entrance examination whereby it follows certain policies set by the state government, UT administration and the affiliated university. Similarly for M.Ed programme, the admission norms of eligibility are based on the candidate performance in qualifying examination, entrance examination or any other norm based on criteria laid down by the admission authority.
