Deshratna Rajendra Prasad Shikshak Prashikshan Mahavidyalaya, Patna, Bihar, is one of the younger institutions in the city, established in the year 2018. The affiliated college's campus has 5.93 acres for teacher education and training. The institute is permitted by the NCTE to conduct two specialised courses in education. The total student enrolment of 103 and a faculty strength of 13 strike a healthy student–teacher ratio that contributes to student attention and educational quality. 

The college campus is equipped with a variety of facilities that contribute toward the enhancement of the student learning experience. The well-equipped library serves as a knowledge hub, providing students with access to a plethora of educational resources. Departmental laboratories have been set up on the campus to provide students with practical, hands-on experiences; it is particularly an important exercise for future teachers. The college has very good IT infrastructure to keep up with modern educational trends. Sports facilities have also been provided for sponsoring the physical fitness and team-building skills of students. Health of the students is also taken care of by the institute through a health centre that offers first aid facilities. A guest house or waiting room is available for visiting faculty as well as family members of students. Desratna Rajendra Prasad Shikshak Prashikshan Mahavidyalaya offers two full-time courses in education, catering to different levels of teacher training. B.Ed and D.El.Ed, both the courses, are of two years duration and pour in the requisites for making a successful career as a teacher.

Deshratna Rajendra Prasad Shikshak Prashikshan Mahavidyalaya admits students purely based on merit, given through the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The college follows the admission policies of the state government of Bihar and the affiliated university. The admission to the B.Ed. course is based on the qualifying examination, entrance examination, or any other selection process as prescribed by the state government or University. For D.El.Ed course, admission is made through a merit list that is prepared based on the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination and/or entrance exam, as prescribed by the state government.
