Dhupguri College of Education, Dhupguri: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Located at Dhupguri in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, Dhupguri College of Education is an affiliated college, established in 2008. This NCTE-approved institution specialises in teacher education. Sited on a compact campus of 0.66 acres, this college has currently a total student enrolment of 162 and a faculty strength of 15 members. 

The college has several amenities, including the following: The institutional IT infrastructure helps students get first-hand experience with modern technology to enhance their learning process. A very important asset is the Library, which comprises over 4,000 books, including 1,000 titles, journals, periodicals, encyclopedias, and reference books. The reading section in the library can accommodate 50 students at one time and is well-maintained, suitable for the apt atmosphere of study and research. For the physical health of students, the college shares a playground with another institution and has indoor and outdoor sports facilities such as the multipurpose hall/gymnasium and athletics facilities. A canteen caters to the dietary needs of staff and students while a health centre with first aid facilities takes care of basic medical care.

Dhupguri College of Education offers only one course in B.Ed. It is a full-time, two-year course with an intake capacity of 100 students per year. This concentration in the college makes the development of skilled educators further concentrated, as all resources and facilities are used for a single educational purpose. 

Admission to Dhupguri College of Education is purely based on merit, considering marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The institution follows the policy on admission formulated by the state government and the affiliated university. This means assurance of a fair and uniform system of selection of aspiring teachers.
