Doddappa Appa College of Education, Basavakalyan, came into existence in the year 2004 and is one of the leading teacher training college in Basavakalyan, Karnataka. This affiliated college approved with National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is committed to nurture future teachers. The college is located on a zoned 4 acre land making it have an excellent learning and development environment. It has 148 students enroled and faculty of 18 members thus guaranteeing the students of the institute the best and personal attention. 

The Doddappa Appa College of Education has a number of amenities intended to benefit its students as they learn their respective courses. The campus contains a fully furnished library so that the students do not lack any student, educational, and other literature. The institution also has a nutritional perspective where students are provided with sports facilities in order to promote physically healthy students. An auditorium is an important facility on campus on which a variety of based events and seminars are held enhancing the energetic campus life. 

Doddappa Appa College of Education has been established with a view towards its BEd programme Only and it provides an intake capacity of 100 students only for the future teachers. This programme is a two-year full course and gives an all-round preparation in the principles as well as practices of education.
