Doon Valley College of Education, Dehradun: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Doon Valley College of Education (DVCE), established in 2005, is one of the reputed colleges of education located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The college has the permission from the NCTE for its affiliated college status, allowing the college to offer teacher training programs. Situated on a 1.29-acre close campus, DVCE has two full-time programs with a total student enrolment of 596. The student body consists of boys and girls in this co-educational environment, who are assisted with their studies by a faculty of 14 committed teachers.

The centrally located library, with over 20,000 books, national newspapers, and professional journals, has been an invaluable source of information for academic study. Fully computerized, it follows an "open-shelf" policy and hence encourages students to make the best use of these resources. There's an IT infrastructure in the college that includes good quality hardware in the computer lab, equipped with the latest technology and internet facilities to keep the students connected with the digital world through campus-wide Wi-Fi. For transport convenience, Doon Valley College of Education  offers 8 buses to connect numerous parts of the city to the college and hostels. Doon Valley College of Education provides two prime courses to its students, which is Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Master of Education (M.Ed). The full-time study period for these courses is of two years. Both courses aim at equipping students with proper comprehensive training in educational theory and practice with the aim of facilitating a successful career for the employed in teaching and school educational administration.  Admission at Doon Valley College of Education shall be based on merit in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, if any, or as per policy of the State Government/UT Administration and University for B.Ed Course. Equally, admissions to the M.Ed program should be on the basis of the merit of the qualifying examination, entrance examination, or of any other selection as may be decided by the state government, university, or the UT administration. The objective behind it should be to adopt a comprehensive approach that will ensure the college takes in only that student influx that has a real potential of contributing much toward the education system.
