Doon Valley Institute of Education, Karnal was established in 2004 as an affiliated college located in Sector 17, outside Jundla Gate, Karnal, Haryana. This co-educational institution has been granted approval by the NCTE, New Delhi, and thus maintains quality standards in teacher education. The institute has a total of 288 students enrolled and 17 faculty members, and provides good learning environment in the quest to be an educator. The institute offers only one degree course in the form of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), a two-year full-time course.

The campus has a variety of facilities to make the students' lives on campus more enjoyable and facilitate them in their academic pursuit. Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls will provide home-like comfort and recreational facilities like TV, indoor games, and magazines and newspapers to spend quality time. The knowledge hub, a well-stocked library with more than 80,000 books and 120 online journals related to different subjects, including B.Ed., is available at the institute. There is also a gym for the fitness-conscious. The sports facilities and the auditorium for various events and seminars make up for a very comprehensive college experience.

Doon Valley Institute of Education offers a single course, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), which is a full-time program. This focused approach shall let the institute concentrate its resources and expertise on delivering quality teacher education. 

The admission process in Doon Valley Institute of Education is governed by the prevailing guidelines of State Government, U.T. Administration, and the affiliated University. Admissions are purely based on merit and are offered to students subject to availability, strictly based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination.
