Dr. Ambedkar Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya, Raebareli, was established in 1978 in Unchahar, Raebareli District of Uttar Pradesh. This co-educated affiliated college occupies a large area of about 16.25 acres and flows a wide course catalogue. The institute is home to a total of 1378 students and a teaching staff of 18 committed members of faculty. Dr. Ambedkar Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya is a course offering college that provides 9 courses to students under three degrees specifically in the departments of Arts and Science. To this effect, the college has a strong commitment to offering quality education as evidenced by its broad course offerings and state of art facilities.

Dr. Ambedkar Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya offer a host of facilities with ample aimed at improving the learning process as well as the development of students. The library of the college is large and has different sorts of material, encyclopaedas, dictionaries, modern reference books and text books. It also offers DELNET and INFLIBNET databases for e-resources, and developments which help student’s arrange and search a huge variety of e-books and e-journals. The library and cyber cafe positively improve the student’s academic endeavour by providing reading room and internet facilities. For any group of people who wants to pursue technology, they have a computer room that can hold up to 25 students at a go, which is significant in offering computer education so that students can know how to shape the world of work. 

There are in total nine courses offered in Dr. Ambedkar Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya: six undergraduate programmes and three postgraduate programmes. The institute offer full time course in Arts, Science and other faculties from secondaries to tertiary levels. The Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme of study is the largest and has an approved capacity of 480 intakes. In the post graduate level, the college offers many M.A departments with a seating capacity of 60 each rendering education in Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Sociology, Political Science, History, Geography etc. The total number of students enroled in the institute for all courses is 1378, which shows that the institute tries to offer education at the higher level to a large number of students. 

Admission procedures in Dr. Ambedkar Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya refer to students’ abilities, skills and qualification in a manner that does not discriminated. The college provides many amenities to students in their educational endeavour for which it has specially arranged a boys and girls hostel for OBC community students by the Social Welfare Department of Uttar Pradesh Government. These hostels are established within the college premise and provide free shelter to the target group of beneficiaries. It is academically sound institution with a clear vision of developing its students. They include a variety of activities that are coordinated by departmental councils with an aim of improving intellectual growth of students as well as exhibition of talents. The institute also give equal importance to physical training and games, there is a huge play ground area meant for basketball, vollyball, badminton, kho-kho, football, kabaddi etc. In relation to this, inter schooling annual sports meet is conducted each academic year to promote student’s participation and achievements in sports.
