Dr. D.Y. Patil Dental College and Hospital, Pune is one of the prominent dental institutions in the region, established in 2000. The location of the constituent college is Pimpri, Pune, with a sprawling 5-acre campus. DYPDCH has been approved by the Dental Council of India and offers 11 courses across 3 degree levels. It has a total enrolment of 650 students, comprising a heterogeneous body of students including 78% undergraduates and 22% postgraduates. The faculty strength is 220, which helps in maintaining a good student-to-faculty ratio. DYPDCH is the proud centre for various specialisations in the field of dental disciplines like Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, and Orthodontics.

The BDS programme with an intake of 100 seats forms the cornerstone of undergraduate education. At the postgraduate level, it offers several MDS specialisations with 2 to 8 seats in each. There is also a Diploma course in Dental Mechanics, with 10 seats. All programmes are full-time, thereby ensuring intensive and focused dental education.

The admission process of DYPDCH is strict and truly merit-based. For the BDS course, the admissions are based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET-UG. Candidates seeking admission to the PG courses need to clear the NEET MDS examination for admission to MDS courses. The college also conducts its own All India Common Entrance Test for some courses in the Institution. The academic calendar usually follows the national dental education schedules. As such, admissions usually commence after the declaration of NEET results.
